For example - we use galvanized steel pipe to join our table tops to the pedestals, and that galvanized steel pipe goes entirely through the pedestal to allow draining of water from open umbrella holes, rather than have it accumulate and create problems.   The galvanized steel pedestal pipe goes into another piece that is an integral part of the top itself, rebar.  We weld the rebar to our galvanized steel insert to avoid the friction and movement that make other types of sets unsafe and corrupt the concrete.  It cost more, and you will never see it, but it gives us confidence that these sets will serve you well for decades to come.

Did we mention durability?

Many years ago we installed a set in Central Europe we called "The White Lady".  In 2001 a severe flood went through the area and the set was under floodwaters for two weeks.  When the family was allowed back in they told us that while everything else, including cars, was washed away the White Lady was completely intact and after rinsing with water looked as good as new.  In fact it looks even better than new as the sets age so well they look more beautiful with each passing year.
